From the Pastor's Desk 08/13/2021

Here's the good news, if you are superstitious - today is the ONLY "Friday the 13th" this year! That said, there's a lot packed into this weekend, and I hope you can be part of it all. We are headed to the Stingers game tomorrow evening: all-you-can-eat hot dogs and burgers start at 6 pm at the picnic area just inside the gate, the game starts at 7:05, and there will be fireworks following the game, win or lose. See you at the ballpark, Church! Then join us for Sunday worship as we talk about life-giving Bread ... again. Where did that phrase, "you are what you eat" originate, anyway? Worship with us this Sunday to find out, either online or at 9:30 am in person. And be aware that the Bishop is now urging us to wear masks inside, since our county's positive testing rate for COVID is climbing again. If you haven't been vaccinated (and you are eligible), please do get vaccinated. It is safe and effective, kind of like the prayers of the righteous.

Finally, the missions team is considering the pros and cons of hosting a Turkey Dinner in November, and they'd like your thoughts on the matter. Would you please take just a moment to complete this survey? See you in church, Church! - Pastor Jo Anne
