From the Pastor's Desk 9/3/2021
I'm grieving today. Yesterday, two friends died - one a longtime friend, the other a friend I knew only a few months. Both of these losses, piled on top of so many losses experienced in the past 18 months, have reminded me how fragile we are, and how we depend on God's gift of resurrection hope.
That hope supports our second installment of the "Faith Works" series from James this week. James tells us not to favor the rich over the poor, because all are precious in God's sight. All can hope in resurrection as we work our faith, to develop a faith that works. Join us for outdoor worship and Communion at 9:30 AM, or worship online (be sure to have bread and cup prepared, so we can consecrate your Communion elements during the service!).
Plan now to join us on September 12th, when we present Bibles to our third graders, 3-4-year-olds, and bless the backpacks of students returning to school! Kids, bring your backpack to church, and then plan to stay for Sunday School! Parents, you can register your children here. See you in church, Church! - Pastor Jo Anne
